How To Package Technology
Desktop Computers
It’s important to provide packaging for both the inside and outside of your PC for shipping. Shipping companies love to just throw things around and it’s important they’re well secured. Make sure to stuff the inside of your computer.
I’d recommend taking off the side panels and using expandable packaging foam. Make sure to arm it and then put the panels back on so it can properly expand to your computer chassis.
Expanding foam bags are cheap and is a pretty minor cost in addition to the service cost. I embedded a link earlier in this sentence for reference.
If you still have the box and packaging your computer came in when you got it then just use that.
If you don’t have the original box, make sure to use a box that can fit your computer and provide LOTS of padding, especially if your case has glass or an acrylic panel.
Laptops
If you have the original box, used that and any packaging material it came with, or you own packing material.
If you don’t have the original box, just make sure to use a box that fits it and use a good amount of packaging material, because postal services love to throw things around like it’s unbreakable.
